Dr. Thelma Dillard seeking re-election to Bibb Board of Education

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb Board of Education member Dr. Thelma Dillard wants to represent the people of District 2 again.

Dr. Dillard announced she’s seeking re-election to the board Monday morning. She previously served as the 2015 board president.

“We experienced many successes. We have not had to raise property taxes, our graduation rates have improved from near 50% in 2013 to a rate of over 71% in 2015. We earned full accreditation as a school system in 2013, and in 2015 the Bibb School Board was declared a Quality Board by the Georgia School Board Association,” said Dr. Dillard.

Dr. Dillard has also served as the board’s treasurer and vice president.

Election Day in Macon-Bibb County is May 24.
