Ingleside businesses hope speed table works

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Ingleside Village business owners want you to slow down at a speed table.

They say drivers race down Ingleside Avenue.

So, they had the city put in a speed table.

It works as a crosswalk as well with flashing lights letting cars know someone wants to cross.

President of the Ingleside Village Merchants Association, Terry Jordan, says he’s mostly happy with the table so far.

“During the busy times of day they tend to ride around it now, but I do think that in time when they get used to it being here, people will end up using it–paying attention and making it safer for the pedestrians and our customers,” said Jordan.

Jordan hopes you’ll check out Ingleside Village.

He says they have a lot of shops you will like.
