Family in need gets surprise for Christmas
An aunt has been struggling to raise four kids after their mother went to jail almost a year ago, accused of intentionally running over and killing her boyfriend.
When she read the article, Arnetra Hancock took it into her own hands to help the family out for Christmas. She made a Facebook post asking anyone for help, and immediately she received responses.
Christmas Eve, Arnetra and other donors took presents to the home of the family where their faces lit up like Christmas trees.
“I was gonna make sure they had a Christmas now, but it wouldn’t have been nothing like this,” says Myrtice Davis, the aunt of the kids.
Arnetra Hancock says after seeing this story, she knew she had to do something.
“I’ve been in similar situations where i have needed and people pulled me through, so i felt like you know, it was you know, the godly in me to provide and help and provide for this family,” Hancock adds.
With the help from her church family, Facebook friends, and others in the community, Hancock says this wouldn’t be possible.
The family received a kitchen table, a dryer, toys from their wish lists and many other gifts.
Twenty-two people came forward to make the family Christmas a little brighter. Hancock wants to say thanks to the following people for their help:
Phil Sullivan, Cricket 98cent store on Shurlington Drive, Platinum Princesses of Macon, Georgia, JD Drama, Fadana Presley, Charles Richardson, Teneshia Booker, Joyce Fluellen, Hazel Allen, Ronald Franklin, Roshonne Terrence, Tarryn Fluellen, Gwendolyn Harris, Serdana Robinson Head, Tim McCoy, Allen Davis, Ruby Bledso, Mark Traugh, Jeremy Colbert, Tia Sampson, Charlene Lee, Amy Hussel.
