Restaurant Report Card: Ingleside Village Pizza
“Eclectic is the word we’re going for,” said Ingleside Village Pizza owner Tina Dickson.
Just look up!
“Well we had to get new furniture we had to get all new chairs and I needed to do something with those chairs so I stuck them in that tree,” said Dickson.
There happens to be some good pizza hanging out as well.
“I’ve been here 24 years you know you have to try everything,” said Dickson.
But first, here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
J L’s BBQ on Presidential Parkway scored a 75.
They had raw chicken stored over cooked ribs, the had some expired milk in the fridge, and expired sour cream as well.
Other scores this week:
ALT Deli and Sushi on Zebulon Road – 80
Crazy Bull on Second Street – 96
Fountain of Juice on Forsyth Road – 80
Red Rooster Cafe on Vineville Avenue – 89
The Mandarin Chinese Bistro on Riverside Drive – 80
Tropical Flava on Ingleside Avenue – 100
Allen’s Stoned Baked Pizzeria on Margie Drive – 97
Bare Bulb Coffee on Highway 96 – 91
Benson’s Steak & Sushi on S. Houston Lake Road – 99
Good scores this week.
The decorations are all over the place.
“It’s driving me crazy it’s crooked but that Velvet Elvis back there,” said Dickson.
Ingleside’s been around long enough to collect tons of stuff.
“The guitars are signed by all types of people–there’s an Allen Jackson there’s a Sting up there,” said Dickson. “It started very plainly with just some Christmas lights going across the ceiling and it just went from there.”
Plus the pizza is some of the best around.
And with good food comes a good health inspection score.
“Because I sell food and cleanliness is important,” said Dickson.
Ingleside Village Pizza is making the grade this week.
