Dodge County insurance agent arrested for fraud

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Dodge County insurance agent was arrested Tuesday charged with ten counts of insurance fraud.

27-year-old Macie Yawn owns the Charles Robinson Insurance Agency in Eastman.

An investigation by the state’s insurance commissioner accuses Yawn of pocketing money for insurance premiums for herself.

Yawn is the only agent at the business.

Bleckley County sheriff’s deputies arrested Yawn who’s from Cochran.

Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens says more people could’ve been affected and anyone who feels they were should call the Department of Insurance for more information at (404) 656-2070.

“Alleged actions like Ms. Yawn’s not only damaged the trust consumers placed in her as an insurance agent, but also make everyone’s insurance premiums go up,” Commissioner Hudgens said in a news release.

If Yawn is convicted, she could face up to ten years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
