Deputies in Macon make arrest minutes after burglary

Bibb Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a residential burglary in progress at 2844 Cherry Avenue on Thursday.

When deputies arrived, they saw two black males standing outside of a home where the window and screen had been removed. One of the males immediately ran away after seeing the deputies.

The other male tried to run but was detained and later transported to Bibb County Sheriff’s Property Investigations Office.

After further investigation, the male suspect, 17 year old Wesley Holt was charged with obstruction and crminal attempt to commit burglary. He is currently held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charges.

His bond is set to $9,750. Anyone with other information is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500 and ask to leave a mesagae for the “on-call” property investigator.
