Kirby Smart returns to Alma Mater to coach Bulldogs
There’s a new head football coach in Athens… Kirby Smart was announced as the University of Georgia’s top dawg.
As he begins to take over at Georgia, Smart will continue his current role as the University of Alabama’s defensive coordinator throughout the college football playoffs.
When asked how Coach Nick Saban felt about his departure from Alabama, Smart said “We spent 11 years together, nine consecutively there at the University of Alabama. He’s been a great mentor for me, and he was very supportive. He said he’ll do anything he can to help me and continue that development.”
