UPDATE: Three arrested in fatal Milledgeville shooting
Captain Brad King with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said 19-year-old Montagus Davis was arrested on November 29. Two juveniles were arrested as well on November 30 and December 2. All are charged with aggravated assault.
Torrance was in a car near a home on Horne Avenue when someone shot at the vehicle, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Torrance was taken to the hospital, but died shortly after his arrival.
King said there are no murder charges filed yet because investigators are still reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Deputies are working on a motive for the shooting as well. King expects murder charges to be filed at some point.
King added this crime is gang related, but investigators don’t believe it’s connected to the other drive-by shootings the sheriff’s office and Milledgeville Police Department have been working the past few months.
A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening after a drive-by in South Milledgeville.
Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee said deputies found 26-year-old Devron Torrance with a gunshot wound to his head around 6 p.m. Torrance was taken to the hospital, but died within the hour.
The driver told deputies they were near a home on Horne Avenue when someone shot at the vehicle. Torrance was the passenger in the car.
Sheriff Massee said there was a shooting at the same Horne Avenue home Monday night, but no one was injured. Deputies questioned witnesses and later arrested 20-year-old Haylee Farmer and 18-year-old Tristan Conner for giving false statements. GBI investigators served a search warrant at the Horne Avenue home Tuesday. No arrests have been made in Tuesday night’s shooting.
Sheriff Massee added this is a joint investigation with the Milledgeville Police Department because the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office believes these two shootings are related to a shooting Milledgeville officers worked this weekend.
