“Rivers Alive” cleanup program cleans Houston County creek
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Houston County organization spent time Saturday cleaning up an area creek.
Dozens of volunteers from “Rivers Alive” picked up trash around Bay Gall Creek on the Wellston Trail.
During October and November each year, the program visits different parts of the state to help keep their communities clean.
Board member Jarrod Merriman explains picking up trash isn’t just about making the area look nice.
“With trash in the water system it can build up and cause floods so picking up trash can eliminate flooding issues,” Merriman said.
Pulaski County residents also participated in a clean-up at the Mile Branch River Park.
