UPDATE: Second suspect arrested in fatal Macon armed robbery
According to a news release, 38-year-old Ramon Jerel Mims of Macon turned himself over to investigators around 10:00 a.m., Tuesday.
Investigators identified him as the second suspect with Migel Diadell during an armed robbery at the O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Gray Highway.
Diadell was shot and killed during the robbery.
Mims is charged with felony murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery. He also has a state court bench warrant and city contempt warrant charge.
He is being held in the Bibb County jail.
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man was shot and killed Sunday night in east Macon.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says they found 20-year-old Migel Diadell’s with multiple gunshot wounds behind the O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Gray Highway around 11 p.m.
After further investigation, deputies say Diadell and another man were trying to rob two men when Diadell was shot.
According to a news release, Diadell and a the second suspect forced 18-year-old Travis Edenfield and 17-year-old Joseph Shedd to two different ATMs in attempted to get money off of a company credit. When they were unable to receive any money they brought the victims back to the auto parts store and made them call their boss for money.
When the boss, 34-year-old Brian Hinkle, arrived the robbery victims were told to get the money from his car. While walking to the car Diadell shot at the victims. Hinkle pulled out a gun of his own and shot Diadell three times.
Diadell died in the hospital.
No charges have been filed in the shooting death. Deputies are still looking for the second suspect who accompanied Diadell.
