UPDATE: Missing Macon boy found safe

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says a missing Macon boy was found safe Thursday night.

10 year-old Ethan Dodd was last seen leaving Alexander II Magnet School on College Street around 3:00 p.m. Thursday. The sheriff’s office says his father went to pick him up, but Dodd was not where he was suppose to be waiting. Bibb deputies said he was seen walking on Oglethorpe Street near College Street heading East.

School officials were notified along with the board of education police and the sheriff’s office. Authorities immediately started searching for Dodd inside the school and around the campus. Volunteers with the Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency also helped.

Investigators say Dodd was found on Turpin Street along the railroad tracks near Bronson Yard around 6:45 p.m.

The sheriff’s office says Dodd was in good health and just a little wet from the rain.
