Accused burglary suspect caught coming out of Macon smoke shop

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary call at Cali’s Smoke Shop on Mercer University Drive around midnight, Thursday.

According to a news release, deputies found 18-year-old Malik Jenkins coming out of the front door when they arrived.

Jenkins attempted to run, but was eventually detained.

Deputies viewed surveillance footage showing Jenkins forcing his way into the closed shop, taking items from the store and looking through the cash register.

Jenkins was taken into custody and charged with burglary, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, terroristic threats and theft by receiving stolen property. His bond is set at $25,350.
