Wings Cafe wrongful death lawsuit reaches confidential settlement
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The widow of one of the men killed in December’s Wings Cafe shooting reached a confidential settlement with the nightclub owner.
Beatrice Jackson claimed her husband’s death resulted from the “inadequate security measures” at the nightclub. She was married to Derrick Jackson.
The settlement was filed “under seal” which means only the judge can see it. The original lawsuit asked for $1.2 million. The family’s attorney says no amount of money can replace Derrick, but they feel justice was served during this process.
Jackson was one of the three people killed during a shooting at the nightclub last December.
