Operations and Finance committee passes Macon-Bibb blight fund ammendment

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb County’s Operation and Finance Committee is proposing a change to how the city’s blight money is divided among commissioners.

Right now each leader has $1 million to tackle blight in their district. The proposed amendment takes $50,000 from each commissioner.

The total $450,000 will be used to demolish worn down buildings across the county.

The amendment will go for a vote before full commission at its next meeting.
