Macon-Bibb Fire Department designs pin to honor Lt. Randy Parker and other fallen firefighters
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb Fire Department will unveil a design for a “Fallen Firefighter” pin next week.
In April, firefighters were told they couldn’t wear a sticker representing Lt. Randy Parker on their helmets because it didn’t follow uniform policy. The fire department designed a pin that represents all fallen Macon-Bibb firefighters. Firefighters can wear it on their uniforms. They can pick it up starting September 11.
Chief Marvin Riggins said he will hold a news conference sometime next week to unveil the desgin.
Lt. Parker died fighting a house fire in February.
