UPDATE: MLK Blvd. reopens after crews fix sinkhole
The Georgia Department of Transportation opened the roadway around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Crews repaired a sinkhole that was reported last Thursday.
Authorities said the sinkhole didn’t look big on the surface, but underneath the roadway it was about 10 feet long, eight feet deep, and 12 feet wide. Crews at the scene told 41NBC this could have turned into a bad and dangerous situation if the sinkhole hadn’t been called into the Bibb Sheriff’s Office.
