$1,000 reward offered for information in Baldwin County shootings

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon Regional Crimestoppers is now offering $1,000 dollar reward for information about the recent shootings in Baldwin County.

“We do have kids and stuff around here, I have small kids,” says Teresa Brown. “Lord knows I don’t want not one of my kids to get hurt from the shooting and stuff.”

Brown says living so close to gunfire makes her scared. She lives in a mobile home on Harrisburg Road in Milledgeville where two men were shot Wednesday while driving through her neighborhood.

“When we arrived the car was off on the shoulder of the road and the individual, the driver, had been shot and the passenger received a gunshot to the leg,” explained Baldwin County Sheriff’s Lt. Robert Langford.

Langford says the driver was taken to Oconee Regional Hospital. The passenger was treated at the scene.

Brown says she and her neighbors are happy to know investigators are working to solves these case.

There have been 12 shootings in Baldwin County since July 14th, according to Langford.

“We have the last victim’s vehicle here. We have a GBI specialized Crime Scene Unit brought in, their currently processing the car while we speak right now,” he continued. “Hopefully they’ll find some evidence in the car.”

Macon Regional Crimestoppers is now offering $1,000 dollar reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in any of these cases.

“People in the neighborhoods were really concerned,” explained the executive director, Christopher Paul. “They told me that this has never happened in their community before. they want to make sure that they get the information out about who did this.”

Langford and Paul went door to door, Wednesday in the areas where the shootings occurred.

“We went into all the various neighborhoods in Millegeville from the last incident we had at the last drive-by, shooting all the way to the other side of the county,” Langford added.
