Steam engine train to roll through Macon
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Tennesee Valley Railroad Museum is bringing the “Nancy Hanks Special” train to Macon on September 26 and 27.
The train rides are part of the Norfolk Southern’s 21st Century Steam program.
The “Nancy Hanks Two” picked up passengers at the historic terminal station during the 1940’s through the 1960’s.
“Lots of folks from Savannah to Macon to Atlanta fondly recall those days when they could ride back and forth,” says the CEO and General Manager of Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority Rick Jones.
The cost to ride the train is $50 for coach, $60 for deluxe, and $110 for observation seating.
