Four injured in Washington County train derailment
SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Four people are injured after two trains collided in Washington County.
According to Rick Harris with Norfolk Southern a train was leaving Atlanta headed to Savannah when it ran into a local train hauling wood chips and scrap metal. At this time it is unknown if the collision happened in Sandersville or Tennille.
Two of the crew members were airlifted to a hospital in Augusta, two others were taken to a local hospital in Sandersville.
