Customers enjoy tax-free weekend at Walmart
“The tax is what makes a difference for me,” said customer Xromara Boyd.
Because the more you buy, the more you save.
“We went in there and got everything he needed actually underneath 50 dollars with no tax,” said Boyd.
It’s sales tax free weekend at the Walmart on Zebulon and across Middle Georgia.
“The atmosphere around here is really good, our customers are excited about it,” said Store Manager John Thompson.
And for good reason–you can buy a ton of items and not have that pesky sales tax added on.
“It’s actually a good thing because you know how the economy is all bad and stuff so, it’s like good for right now for school,” said customer Joel Verga.
17 cents–50 cents–88 cents–it took just change to get your hands on some of these school supplies.
“You got some really good deals and this is the tax free weekend so you’re going to save even more,” said customer Tonja Scarbary/
Customers packed the aisles.
“We have extra employees in here for our back to school to work in that specific department throughout the whole day and evening and then the same thing tomorrow,” said Thompson. “That way we have the merchandise on the shelves for our customers.”
“We gotta find notebooks, and markers and pens,” said Scarbary.
Thompson has these types of sale days down pat.
“We’re pretty much on a system,” said Thompson. “I have 19 years with the company so every year doing the same thing.”
That makes sure you get what you need and save money.
“Very good variety and the prices are really good,” said Verga.
“Anytime I have a chance to come out and shop, I’m excited, and my purse is happy,” said Boyd.
