Restaurant Report Card: Buffington’s
Whether it’s the locals or college students, Buffington’s gets them both.
“We are in a market where we have to toe that line,” said Hufstetler. “You have to be able to pull in some of the locals, some of the regulars here in Milledgeville as well as appeal to the college crowd and bring out both.”
“We’ve got food, great beer and some of the best live music you’ll hear anywhere,” said Hufstetler.
But first, here’s a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.
JLD Wings and Pub at 700 Feagin Mill Road in Warner Robins scored a 65.
American Feel and Wings on Spring street scored a 99.
SILVER BAY SEAFOOD on Presidential Parkway scored an 85.
The Shiver Shack on tucker road scored a 100.
Marco’s Pizza on Zebulon Road scored a 100.
American Feel and Wings on Spring Street scored a 99.
Coffee Cup on Carroll Street in Perry scored a 90.
Georgia Bob’s BBQ on Russell Parkway scored a 100.
Greek Village II on N. Commercial Circle scored a 100.
Skipper John’s of Perry on Macon Road scored a 100.
Great scores this week.
Buffington’s food is well known.
“I think the best burger in town. We’ve been voted the best burger in Milledgeville quite a few times from a few different people.”
But the food isn’t the only reason it’s popular.
“I moved here a year and half ago, I brought my family with me,” said Hufstetler.
Mike Hufstetler owns the place with his dad and brother.
“I brought my wife, my daugher. I moved to Milledgeville to become a part of it,” said Hufstetler. We want to be a part of the community here. I want to influence the community here.”
So he gets involved.
“We’re actually getting ready to start a dinner and politics discussion,” said Hufstetler. “We’re gonna bring in the mayor and a few other of the county and city representatives discuss consolidation which is getting to be a big thing for us that Macon just did.”
Plus, the restaurant stays clean.
“I spend a lot time personally walking through the kitchen checking behind everybody,” said Hufstetler.
And a great beer collection never hurts either.
“We now have one of the nicest beer collections in Middle Georgia,” said Hufstetler. “I’ll stand my crew up against anybody.”
Buffington’s is making the grade this week.
