Public hearing for Macon-Bibb FY2016 budget

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Operations and Finance Committee passed the proposed FY2016 budget Tuesday morning.

A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Government Center.

Some key components of the proposed $147,640,000 budget include eliminating the remaining former City of Macon taxes, implementing a new pay scale so all employees, whether county or former city, will get equal pay, and reducing the budget by 15%.

The budget is expected to go before the full commission next week.
