Bibb deputies searching for suspect in fake check investigation

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit is asking for the public’s help to find a suspect wanted for forgery and deposit account fraud.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect was seen at the Robins Federal Credit Union on Log Cabin Road on May 9. Authorities say the suspect deposited a fake check worth $7,950.67 into a friend’s account at the bank’s ATM.

Investigators are interviewing the owner of the account.
