Man arrested within 15 minutes of Fairfax Drive home burglary
Travis Grier, 34, was taken into custody Monday around 1:30 p.m., after he was spotted near a wooded area of Fairfax Drive, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s new release.
A home burglar alarm alerted deputies of the crime. Once they arrived on the scene in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive, they found evidence the home had been broken into and began searching the neighborhood.
A deputy spotted Grier in a wooded area, and discovered he had an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.
Grier was taken back to the residence as deputies continued investigating the burglary.
Surveillance video shows Grier walking up Fairfax Drive. Deputies also notices the shoe print at the scene matched Grier’s.
A television belonging to the victim was found in the woods where Grier was spotted.
Grier is charged with first degree burglary and a violation of probation.
He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Complex.
