National Salvation Army Week gets underway
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Salvation Army of Central Georgia is celebrating the 58th annual National Salvation Army Week.
The week is a chance for the organization to highlight the importance of American giving back to their local communities, according to a news release.
The Salvation Army’s goal is to raise $100,000 between Monday, May 11 and Friday, May 29 in order to sustain shelters, alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs and or utilities assistance programs.
This Wednesday, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. can participate in the Fill the Truck event at the Mulberry Market at Tatnall Square Park.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army of Central Georgia.
