Macon-Bibb firefighters find body in burning car

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon man has died after being burned alive in his car Sunday around 11:00 p.m.

The Macon-Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on Ten Knolls Drive.

55-year-old Wesley Cochran was found in the driver’s sear of the car by firefighters.

Deputies say the car ran off the road onto an elevated area just off the road and became stuck.

Cochran was driving near the end of Ten Knolls Drive, where it ends in a cul-de-sac.

The fire possibly started from under the car because it was resting on debris.

An autopsy will be performed soon.
