Restaurant Report Card: Steak Out

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You’ll be glad you did.

“It’s no secret, it’s all about what you’re doing on the grill,” said Steak Out Manager Bryant Moore.

And the folks at Steak Out at 2778 Riverside Drive definitely know what they’re doing.

But first, a restaurant that needs to step it up this week.

La Bamba Mexican Grill at 3704 Northside Drive in Macon scored a 65.

The manager wasn’t around when the inspection was done, employees were drinking coffee while they made guacamole, they had moldy jalapenos in a container, the soda nozzle had food-like buildup on the inside, and several packages of bread, tortillas and buns were all expired.

Hopefully they’ll bounce back from that one.

Other scores this week can be found here.

Good scores this week for the most part, and Steak Out is flaming good.

“Everybody don’t (sic) wanna dine in and get a steak,” said Moore. “Some people just want to get it and go. That’s the thing about steak out you can just come here and get whatever steak you like, and go.”

A ribeye steak sandwich with a mashed potato? I’ll take it!

And staying clean is a pretty obvious goal–the 100 on the wall says it all.

“Everyday we have a uh, chore list, we have certain things we clean,” said Moore. “Some days we clean the bags on certain days, on certain days we clean the grill. You know, depending on what day of the week it is we have a certain part of the store to clean every single day.”

So if you’re looking for some steak to go, head over to Steak Out.

They’re making the grade this week.
