Perry Teen Drowns At Lake Juliette Sunday Afternoon

A Perry teen is dead this morning, after drowning at Lake Juliette, in Monroe County. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s department, Joseph Davenport was fishing at the cove, with family and friends Sunday afternoon.

The teen tried to swim from the west bank of the cove, to the east bank, near the boat ramp. While swimming, he began to struggle and went under water. Witnesses tried to rescue Davenport but were  unsuccessful. The teenager’s body was recovered around seven last night, by the bibb county Dive team. The body has been transported to the G-B-I crime lab in Atlanta.
