Telfair prison guard arrested for smuggling tequila, drugs to inmates
McRae, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A prison guard in Telfair County is in jail for allegedly smuggling contraband in to inmates at the McRae Correctional Facility.
According to the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office, 56-year-old Anna McDonald is charged with bringing in prohibited items to inmates and crossing guard lines with drugs and intoxicants. McDonald works at the McRae Correctional Facility.
Authorities conducted an investigation and claim McDonald brought in bottles of tequila, cigarettes, and drugs into the prison.
According to Sheriff Chris Steverson, McDonald is booked in the Telfair County jail. No bond has been set.
