UPDATE: Third victim dies after Friday’s Wings Cafe shooting
Jones tells 41NBC 38-year-old Derrick Jackson died from internal injuries Thursday. Jones says an autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon.
A total of five people have been arrested.
Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 29-year-old Markques Patterson Thursday at a business on Spring Street in Macon. Patterson is charged with two counts of murder, one count of participating in criminal street gang activity, and five counts of aggravated assault. He’s in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center being held without bond.
Investigators arrested 23-year-old Jaquez Terrance Foster Wednesday night. Foster is charged with two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and a probation violation. He was arrested at the Medical Center, Navicent Health.
Foster and 38-year-old Vertuice Wall, who was arrested on Wednesday, made their first appearance in a Bibb County Magistrate Court on Thursday. Both requested commitment hearings. The hearings are scheduled for the second in January.
The U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Task Force arrested 28-year-old Eric Watkins Jr. Watkins was picked up at the corner of Bloomfield and Lindsey Drives.
Both Watkins and Wall are charged with two counts of murder and one count of criminal street gang activity.
Watkins is booked in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.
Bibb deputies arrested 35-year-old Dashon Johnston on Friday. He’s accused of stealing money from one of the victims who died during the shooting. He is charged with robbery.
All five suspects were arrested and charged for their involvement in the fatal shooting at Wings Cafe last Friday located off Bloomfield Road in Macon. Two people were fatally shot. Four others, including Patterson and Foster, were injured.
