Bibb County Remembers Fallen Deputy, 5 Years Later

Today the Bibb County community remembers the life and legacy of a fallen Deputy. Investigator Joseph Tim Whitehead Jr. lost his life in the line of duty five years ago Wednesday.

“Joseph Whitehead was an incredible, dedicated deputy Sheriff,” remembers Dr. Rick Lanford, Chaplin for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

 “He was a mans man, a deputies deputy. He always was there to help other officers and to be there to fair it out in the crimes and the criminals and do whatever he needed to do,” remembers Chief Deputy David Davis, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Whitehead was the first Bibb County Deputy killed on-duty in more than 80 years.
