New Cherry Blossom Event to Honor Late Commissioner Billingslea

A new event is coming to the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Cotton Avenue Revival. You can revisit a historic period in black history and celebrate with a parade, car show, mime performances, a gospel songfest and more.

Macon City Councilwoman Elaine Lucas is presenting this event and she says it’s a way to honor the late Bibb County Commissioner, Albert Billingslea.

The Cotton Avenue Revival is going on this weekend at Spring to Mulberry Streets in downtown Macon from 11am-6pm Saturday-Sunday. This is a free event and open to the public.
