Career expo for veterans in Dublin

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Veterans looking for a job are invited to attend a career expo Tuesday in Dublin.

The event is hosted by the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center and the Georgia Department of Labor. It is described as a “homecoming celebration” for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, but it is also open to all veterans in central Georgia.

There will be approximately 40 employers interviewing veterans for jobs. There will also be a special presentation on career enhancement.

Veterans can also receive backpacks filled with school supplies for their kids.

Veterans seeking employment are asked to come dressed for the event.

The career expo is Tuesday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgia National Guard Armory located at 910 Telfair Street in Dublin.
