Warner Robins Fire Department investigates fire at Lenox Pointe Apartments

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins Fire Department was dispatched to a fire around 11:15 p.m. Monday night at Lenox Pointe Apartments, according to the Warner Robins Fire Department.

The Fire Department reports flames coming from building 17. Firefighters found a woman and her child at a second floor window.

Fire Officials say the woman lowered her child to police officers and then firefighters used a ladder to rescue the woman.

Firefighters searched the building and found no one else inside. The fire was extinguished.

The mother and child suffered minor smoke inhalation. They were checked out and released at the scene, according to the Fire Department.

There were no other injuries. 

Fire Officials say a resident reported the fire. The resident stated he saw a trash bag on fire outside one of the first floor apartments. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
