Riverside Ford Victim of Car Theft

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Riverside Ford was the victim of car theft Wednesday.

During a routine rental car pick-up, a man stole an orange 2014 Ford Fusion right in front of a dealer service adviser.

“I was shocked that he would steal the car like that,” service adviser Corey Pearson said.

Riverside Ford owner Terry Tiller says the man was seen walking through the parking lot prior to stealing the Fusion.

A sales dealer approached him about buying a car, but the man declined service.

Tiller also says this is the second car stolen in two years and that he will not change security.

“Things like that happen in a business,” Tiller said. “Sometimes, there’s just bad people, not a lot of bad people, but a few in the world.”

Bibb County Sheriff Deputy Lt. David Freeland says investigators believe to have identified the man and that the suspect has a prior record to committing these types of crimes.

The Sheriffs Office is also asking the public for help locating the vehicle.
