Boston Students Spend Spring Break Building House in Macon
Forget about partying, drinking, and spending all day on the beach for spring break. 13 students from Fisher College in Boston are volunteering their spring break week building a house with Habitat for Humanity.
The students flew into Georgia on Sunday, and will stay here throughout the week to paint, hammer, and do whatever they can to help get the house closer to move in date.
Josh McCain is an advisor from Fisher College.
“Most of the students who can afford to go away, go to Aruba or Florida to spend time on the beach. The students here wanted to go do something and help other people,” McCain said.
Fisher College helped the students financially, but they were required to raise $200.00 to offset the cost of the trip.
The house is expected to be ready to be moved into by the middle of May.
