Perdue, Kingston election big on ballot for voters
But it didn’t stop some Macon voters from exercising their privilege to vote.
“I think it’s important to vote in every election. I don’t care if it’s a runoff or not, I, as long I remember, I’m going to be out here to vote,” said voter Heather Bowman Cutway.
“We’re lucky to be in a democratic society so I feel like I can be a part of it. Where we can get a choice on who to vote for,” said voter Gregg Mangum.
Mangum says he likes having an impact on government decisions.
“I want to have a say so in how the government operates,” said Mangum. “You can’t complain about politicians unless you go out and vote.”
The biggest race on the ballot might be between Jack Kingston and David Perdue for one of Georgia’s U.S. Senate positions.
Kingston has been in Congress for years, while Perdue is a newcomer.
Mangum is undecided about the race.
“We need to know where politicians stand on an issue so we can have an idea how our future is affected,” said Mangum. “Because we want the best politicians possible in the state of Georgia.”
Another hot race today — the Houston County School Board.
Seats 6 and 7 are up for grabs.
Voters will also decide the runoff races for State School Superintendent on the Republican and Democratic side.
And there’s a runoff for Georgia U.S. House District 10.
