Macon Blues Legend Dies

88 year old Eddie Kirkland, known as the “Gypsy of the Blues” was killed Sunday after his car collided with a Greyhound bus in Florida.

Kirkland was flown to a Tampa hospital, where he later died.
No one on the bus was injured.

Kirkland lived in Macon and was a bandleader for Otis Redding. He also worked with John Lee Hooker and Little Richard.
