Two Men Beaten, One Dies Inside a Twiggs County Motel
Two men were beaten over the weekend at the Ambassador Inn in Twiggs County.
John Taylor is charged with murder, kidnapping, entering an auto, burglary, and aggravated battery. Taylor brutally beat and murdered Gene Musgrave inside his hotel room, early Saturday morning.
Around 11 a.m. Saturday, the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Department got a call from the motel, after workers there witnessed Taylor beat another man, 76 year old Robert Saul inside another room.
Saul is a employee of the motel, and was cleaning a room when Taylor walked in and began to hit Saul on the head.
When deputies arrived, Saul was still conscious in the room, but Taylor had returned to the room he was renting for the weekend.
Motel employees told investigators they saw Taylor getting into and out of a black car in the parking lot. Investigators soon found the car did not belong to Taylor, but to Eugene Musgrave, who was registered to another room at the motel.
When deputies knocked on the door, they did not get a response. The motel manager opened the door for them, and they found the body of Musgrave on the floor.
Robert Saul is still in critical condition at the hospital, but he has been responding and talking to family and friends.
