New Cherry Blossom Store…New Events
It’s time to shop pink! The Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off in less than three weeks now. Today, the new Cherry Blossom Gift Store opened its doors in downtown Macon at 567 Cherry Street. The shop is open Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm, and every day once the festival begins.
“We have all the merchandise out so that you can come by ahead of festival time and be prepared and get your t-shirt, get all of your fun pink and really get into the spirit and celebrate the festival,” says Karen Jordan Lambert, Cherry Blossom President and CEO.
Today, organizers also announced new additions to this year’s festival. “The Big Cat Encounter” featuring real tigers will be in town. Along with a “Healey Car Show,” “Strong Man Competition,” “High Heels for the Cure” race, and camel rides. Also new this year, a decorators show house on Orange Street and a free concert on Coleman Hill, featuring “Ken Tremens and the Quiet Storm.”
