Take command of the paper clutter in your kitchen

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Do you have a corner in your kitchen where papers just seem to pile up? Professional organizer Andi Willis shares some tips on how you can take command over all that clutter.

Willis said the kitchen is the heart of the home in most houses. It is where families gather and where all the paper and mail gathers. She suggests using a command center to help you get control of the paper. It will help you process it more efficiently and manage your household better.

Willis said you will need a container to catch mail, a file box for action files, a calendar, a trash can, and a shredder.

As your mail and papers come in and you can’t go through them right away, Willis said you should put them in the container. All incoming mail should be sorted into file, act, and trash folders.

All junk mail can go in the trash.

Willis suggests using a family calendar to help keep families all on the same page.
