Weather Forecast for July 7, 2014
The biggest concern, outside of the heat, is the UV index which is near extreme levels. 11+ would be considered extreme, and the EPA forecasts a 10 for us. The UV index reflects the risk of ultraviolet overexposure, so the best thing to do would be avoid outdoor activities between 10 AM and 4 PM, and make sure you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that’s at least SPF 30, if not higher.
Later this week, a front is forecasted to move into the area and hang around here for a couple of days, so storm chances increase Thursday and Friday. It looks like the system will move out of the area this weekend, bringing storm chances down. For those of you who hate the 90s, this rain should help moderate temperatures, though there is a risk for severe weather.
