Mayor Pro Tem plans to address ‘no show’ council members
GORDON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mayor Pro Tem Terry Eady says he plans to address three members of Gordon’s City Council in regards to their absence from Monday night’s Council meeting.
He says he hasn’t heard from Council members: Doretha Whipple, Barbara Towles and Terry Reese.
According to Eady, they violated the city charter and he’s going to take action by reminding them of the responsibilities while in office with personal letters and a direct address of the issue.
“If you take that oath, I think that you should really take it to heart and do what you say you’re going to do in that oath,” Eady says, “And that means that you would work the best that you can to help the City of Gordon move forward…that means working with all the City Council together.
41NBC reached out to the Council members. So far, none of the members replied.
