Bobcats No. 7 on softball NCAA Southeast Region list

INDIANAPOLIS (GC ATHLETICS RELEASE) – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) released its Southeast Region rankings poll Wednesday and has listed the Georgia College softball team at No. 7. The rankings determine which teams get invited to the Division II National Tournament and they will continue to get updated as the May tournament approaches.

The Regional tournaments will take place from May 8-11 at the location of the highest two seeds from the most recent poll released prior to the tournament date. The two highest seeds in the latest poll are Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament champion University of North Georgia and South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Tournament champion Anderson University, respectively.

The Southeast Region is represented by the PBC, SAC and the Conference Carolinas (CC). Each conference tournament champion from the PBC, SAC and CC plus five at-large teams selected from the Southeast Region poll will compete for the NCAA Division II National Championship along with three conference winners and five at-large teams from seven other regions.

In addition to the Southeast Region, the other seven regions include the Midwest, South, East, Central, South Central, West and Atlantic.
