Beaten, Burned Dog Released from Animal Hospital

MACON, Ga. (AP) – Authorities say a Labrador mix who was beaten and set on fire as a puppy in December has been released from a Macon animal hospital.

Oreo’s owner, Kristy Lipscomb, says the now 10-month-old dog was jumping up on the fence and trying to get in the gate when he arrived home from the hospital this week.

Authorities say Oreo was in his backyard in Macon when someone set him on fire.

Macon Animal Control Officer Van VanDeWalker says the dog lost parts of both ears and suffered severe burns between his hind legs.

No arrests have been made in the case.
