Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia holds first Easter luncheon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia held their first ever Easter luncheon on Friday, catering to hundreds of people in need in Middle Georgia.

Volunteers were lined up and ready to serve as many people as they could.

This is the first time the rescue mission has fed families on Easter after seeing success during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Volunteers say the opportunity to help those in need is what Easter is all about.

“The meals connect us to one another,” said Erin Reimers, the Executive Director of the Rescue Mission. Those in need should be reminded that they are not forgotten in the community and that we care.”

The rescue mission prepared hundreds of meals on site, as well as delivered hundreds more to elderly and disabled residents in the community.

Volunteers and staff thanked the countless donors who provided the meal for the event.
