Dodge Co. Schools Without Superintendent

As of Friday, Dodge County Schools are without a Superintendent. Dr. Darryl May held the position for a little more than a year, but negotiations over extending his contract has led him to leave the school system.

Early this year, the Dodge County School Board voted to open up the search for a superintendent, since Superintendent May’s contract was up at the end of June.

Instead of re-applying for the position, May decided he wanted to end his term early and at the last school board meeting, members agreed in a closed session to buy out his contract.

The details of what the buy out consists of is unknown.

Director of Student Services, Mimi Dennis, will step in this Tuesday, as Interim Superintendent until the school board hires a new leader for the Dodge County School System.

Friday, was also that deadline to apply for the open superintendent position. According to the Dodge County Board of Education, there are several applicants to choose from.
