3 arrests made on officer impersonation phone scam

MACON, Ga (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff Office made 3 arrests Wednesday, March 19, in connection to individuals receiving financial gain through a phone scam.

The suspects would call citizens impersonating law enforcement officers and demand that a fine be paid for a warrant, ticket or other court matters.

21-year-old Tevin Warnell Johnson and 23-year-old Latoria Michelle Gibson were arrested and charged with one count of deposit account fraud each, along with Willie Johnson Jr. who is currently incarcerated at the Autry State Prison on unrelated charges.

Willie Johnson Jr. is the brother to Tevin Warnell Johnson.
