Perry City Leaders Connect With Residents Through Walking

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – It’s not everyday the mayor and city council members get a little dirt on their shoes.

But for Perry, the city leaders get a chance to do that every month.

This afternoon Mayor Jimmy Faircloth joined City Council to walk around the city they represent.

They walked through the Five Points neighborhood off of Sam Nunn Boulevard near Kroger.

Mayor Faircloth says this gives the city leaders a chance to communicate with residents in the area,

and address places the city could clean up.

Neighborhood resident Larry Golden joined the group and said it was important for citizens to be involved in their government.

He enjoyed the opportunity to show city leaders the problems his neighborhood faces.

The mayor encourages everyone to show up for the next walk.

They occur on the fourth Tuesday of each month, weather permitting.
