McDaniel Murder Trial Could be Held in Henry County
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Stephen McDaniel murder trial could happen in a courtroom about 60 miles north of Macon in Henry County.
Bibb County Superior Court Judge Howard Simms tells 41NBC Henry County is one of the locations they are considering to hold the trial. Simms would not say what other locations they are considering.
This comes after McDaniel’s defense team filed a motion for a change of venue. Although a location has not been set yet, jury selection will begin on April 28.
McDaniel’s attorney Frank Hogue tells 41NBC he expects a decision on the location soon.
McDaniel is accused of killing Mercer law graduate Lauren Giddings in 2011.
